Giant Bikes Rear Hub Spacing

Frame Hub Wheel

Rear hub spacing explained:

The distance between the dropouts is also known as the Over Locknut Dimension (O.L.D.).
Knowing the correct hub spacing is important for a few reasons:
  • Compatibility: It ensures that the wheels are compatible with the frame
  • Replacement: It makes it easier to replace wheels and other parts in the future
Some common hub sizes include:
  • 100 mm: Modern front hubs (QR or TA)
  • 110 mm: Thru axle front hubs (MTB Boost)
  • 120 mm: Modern track hubs
  • 126 mm: Older 5 and 6 speed road bikes
  • 130 mm: Non-disc road bikes
  • 135 mm: QR MTB, most QR disc road bikes
  • 141 mm: QR Boost (Giant Stance & STP 26)
  • 142mm - Road through axle (and some MTB through axle)
  • 148mm - Boost MTB
  • 157mm - Super Boost MTB (DH)

TA = Through Axle
QR = Quick Release
