Sizing Charts
For each model, there is deliberate overlap between each size. If you fall in the overlap region between the 2 sizes, the following are some of the factor that you may want to consider:
- In general, the smaller the frame size will be slightly lighter, stiffer (frame tubes are closer together) and more nimble; while larger frame size will offer a slightly more compliant ride.
- Female riders have proportionally shorter torso, shorter reach in general. We therefore tend to recommend them being on the smaller frame size.
- The proportion of the upper to lower body is also another important consideration. Riders with a shorter torso may find the smaller frame to be more comfortable.
- Sizing also depends on the type of riding that you enjoy doing. For instance, with mountain bikes, the smaller frame size will offer more standover clearance and maybe more preferable for hard-core applications. For cross country riding, the larger frame size maybe more preferable to maximise your pedalling efficiency and stability at higher speeds.
- Last but not least, rider weight should also be considered. Heavier riders may need the larger frame, especially with some of our full suspension bikes where suspension spring weights may be firmer on larger frame sizes.
